ACCESSIBILITY
A clear road
for everyone.

Car Says Hi aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This page records what the site does today, the limits we know about, and how to tell us when something blocks you. It is a statement of practice, not a formal audit or certification.
What the site does today
- Semantic landmarks and headings on every page, with a skip link to the main content on the app and guide pages.
- Keyboard access to every control and a visible focus outline on links, buttons, and form fields.
- Alternative text on meaningful images; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
- Reduced-motion support: animation and smooth scrolling switch off when your system asks for less motion.
- Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px and remain usable at 200% zoom.
- Header and footer navigation, buttons, and form controls have targets of at least 44 CSS pixels; inline text links follow WCAG target-size exceptions.
- Form fields with explicit labels, and inline errors announced as alerts.
- Guide, legal, and information pages are readable without JavaScript; the home page shows a usage note when JavaScript is off.
Known limits
- Submitting a lookup needs JavaScript; without it, the form cannot send.
- Guide illustrations and the example photos carry short alt descriptions and captions; they set mood or summarize a point and do not describe every pictured detail. The substance each figure makes is also written in the surrounding text.
- Worksheet fields print their entries using a small script; without JavaScript those fields print empty.
- A few secondary links — guide breadcrumbs and the article byline among them — are smaller than the 44-pixel targets used for primary navigation.
- Guides link to official third-party sources, including some PDF documents, whose accessibility is managed by those organizations.
