HELP AND QUESTIONS
Good questions.
Plain answers.
Short answers about what Car Says Hi does, what it can’t tell you, and what to do when something looks wrong.
What does Car Says Hi do — and what can’t it do?
It suggests a car’s likely identity from a photo, screenshot, or typed name, then adds AI-generated context: what stood out, general specifications, model-wide topics to research, similar vehicles, and an AI market estimate when the result supports one. It can’t inspect or verify a specific vehicle — the About page lists the limits.
Why does my result say “possible” or “likely”? How accurate is it?
Every result is a qualitative AI judgement, not a measured probability, so there’s no percentage score. Labels such as “Good match,” “Possible match,” and “Early clue” describe how strongly the visible evidence supports an answer. An uncertain result names a candidate rather than a confirmed car — the guide to how AI car identification works explains where matches go wrong.
Which photos work best?
A sharp, well-lit front or rear three-quarter view with the car mostly in frame — badges, wheels, and roofline visible and little in the way. JPEG, PNG, or WebP images up to 20 MB are accepted; HEIC photos need converting first. The car photo tips guide goes further.
What happens to my photo or text when I submit?
Selecting an image only creates a preview in your browser — nothing is sent until you choose “Identify this car.” The lookup then goes to this site’s Worker, which checks it and forwards it to the Qomza analysis gateway with technical metadata, including a request ID and your connection’s IP address. The gateway keeps lookup records until its operator removes them. The Privacy Notice has the full picture.
Does Car Says Hi cost anything?
No — it’s free to use, and no account is needed.
Why did my upload or lookup fail?
The usual causes: the file isn’t JPEG, PNG, or WebP (HEIC isn’t supported yet); the image is over 20 MB; the file couldn’t be decoded; a name entry ran past 180 characters; the analysis ran past its time limit — lookups get just under a minute; the per-visitor rate limit was reached; or your connection dropped and the analysis service could not be reached. The error on screen names the reason, so convert or crop the image, check your connection, or wait for the suggested pause, and try again.
Can I treat a result as professional advice or certification?
No. A lookup can’t establish an individual vehicle’s condition, safety, ownership, originality, history, or exact specification, and a market estimate is an AI-generated guide, not a quote or appraisal. For a purchase, repair, safety, or valuation decision, check the vehicle’s own records and consult a qualified professional — the guides cover the official checks.
How do I report a wrong result or a mistake in a guide?
Email us — the report a problem section below explains what to include. Reports are read, and confirmed guide errors are corrected.
Are there mobile apps?
Car Says Hi is a website — it runs in the browser on your phone or computer, so there is nothing to install.
How do I contact you?
Email car@sayshi.app. The Contact page explains what to include — the page you were on, your device and browser, and any request or reading ID shown — and gives the operator’s postal address.
